*Canyon Park Middle school may deviate slightly from this schedule based on the amount of space required and availability. The site teacher will communicate with parents who will be impacted by any variations.
Each school has an assigned location for orchestra and band. Locations are based on the school your student attends. Transportation is provided to your assigned location. However, your student may attend any location outside of their service area if you are willing to provide transportation to and from the selected site.
Orchestra Locations: Canyon Creek, Eastridge (First Year Strings only), Lockwood, Maywood Hills, Timbercrest, Wellington, Woodmoor
Band Locations: Canyon Park, Kenmore MS, Leota, Northshore, Skyview, Timbercrest
Band and orchestra students should ride their neighborhood middle school bus. Band programs are typically held at the middle school, and orchestra will be either at the middle school or at an elementary school. The buses will also drop orchestra students at their elementary orchestra site, if it's not held at the middle school. Music teachers will meet the students and direct them to their class areas.
After class, students will be returned to their individual elementary schools by shuttle bus. Your student may attend any location outside of their service area if you are willing to provide transportation to and from the selected site.
Students must be able to sit 3 to a seat and their backpacks and instruments must fit on their lap. Large instruments such as cellos (not the small guitar-sized cello), string basses, baritone horns, tubas and drum kits may not be transported on the bus.
If your student is in the EAP program, enrolled in the before school elementary music program and attending a school outside of your service area, please submit an EAP Music Transportation Form so we can find the best music location that will allow your to arrive to school on time.
