End of Day Student Safety

We need your help to keep our students safe at the end of the day. Here are ways you can help:

Park only in designated parking spots. Do not park in striped areas and do not park in Handicapped parking if you do not have a card to do so.
Send your child with a note at the start of the school day if his/her plans for getting home have changed for the day. Make sure your child is aware of the note and knows their end of day plans.
If you walk to school or park and meet your child on the walkway at the front of the school, please be on time at 3:50pm. It is most helpful for us if, once you have met your child, you proceed back to your car or leave to walk home. If those who have already met their child leave promptly, it makes it easier for the rest of the students to find their cars and families, and makes it easier for staff to help. We love that our families have so many close friendships and that you enjoy spending time together! If you want to stay longer to visit with other families, you are welcome to walk down to the playground with your children. Children must be supervised by their family  if they go to the playground.

We have asked for some new painted lines on the concrete at the front of the school. Once we have the new lines painted, we will update students and the community with new procedures for making our pick-up zone safe and orderly. Thank you for your help!

Join Fall Choir

Choir is open to all fourth and fifth graders. We will meet in the Music Room on Fridays from 3:55 to 4:40 (October - December). Our goal is to hone our vocal skills as we learn some seasonal music and prepare for the following performances:

Woodinville Winterfest (Saturday, 12/7 TBA)
Choir Concert at East Ridge (Tuesday, 12/17 at 7:00 pm)

Students are invited to attend our first rehearsal on October 4th before making their decision about joining the group. At the end of the first rehearsal, Choir Agreement Forms will be handed out to all students who wish to join the group.
*If your child plans to stay for Choir, you must send a note to their teacher letting them know this is a change in their regular after school plans.
* There is no fee for this group.

Eastside Growth & Boundary Information Night

Dear East Ridge Families,

We’ve adjusted the time for the upcoming meeting about projected eastside growth and possible 2020 eastside boundary changes on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The presentation will now start at 5:30 p.m., followed by a question and answer session at 6:15 p.m. The event will conclude at 7 p.m. This change was made to accommodate the PACE information night, which begins at 7 p.m. at Wellington, Woodmoor and Lockwood that same evening.

When:
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019
Presentation from 5:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Question and Answer Session from 6:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Where:
Timbercrest Middle School, Cafeteria
19115 215th Way NE
Woodinville, WA 98077

As you know, last spring the District held conversations about possible boundary adjustments on the eastside of the District that could impact neighborhood families at Bear Creek, Cottage Lake and East Ridge elementary schools. Some community members urged us to confirm the long term viability of the proposed options and shared testimony that enrollments were growing at a greater rate than projected at Cottage Lake and East Ridge. Therefore, the decision was made to put a hold on 2020 eastside boundary changes to allow for the community to meet with the demographer and staff to analyze September enrollment, and the Enrollment Demographics Task Force to fully review the proposed boundary change.

On Tuesday, Oct. 22 the District’s demographer, along with Chief Operating Officer Joe Paperman, Ph.D., and Deputy Superintendent Duggan Harman will present information about projected eastside growth, followed by a question and answer session at Timbercrest Middle School.

We encourage you to attend if possible, as the conversation will focus specifically on the possible boundary changes and expected growth that could impact general education students at Bear Creek, Cottage Lake and East Ridge families. These possible boundary changes could have an impact on the availability of classroom space for some Special Education services currently located at Cottage Lake.

Emergency Contacts & ParentVue

At curriculum night, you should have received your ParentVue login information. Although the system is currently unavailable, we ask that when it does become available, you log on and check your student’s emergency contacts. Parents need to add or change emergency contacts in ParentVue. Contacts include anyone who has permission to pick your child up from school or the bus stop (for kindergartners), this includes daycare providers.
**Please be aware that we will be releasing next year's class placement through ParentVue

Volunteer Information

We are now implementing a new Online Volunteer signup. Volunteers now sign up through the online portal at: https://eastridge.nsd.org/resources/volunteer. Eventually this new system will allow us to share volunteer information within the district, eliminating the need for volunteers to submit paperwork at multiple schools. We need ALL volunteers at East Ridge to follow this process if they plan to volunteer this school year.

Yearbook Photos!

Get your pictures in the yearbook! The Yearbook Staff invites students and parents to submit photos for the yearbook. If you've got great photos of school and community events or you and your friends just having fun, we'd like to see them. Our photographers can't be everywhere. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have.

Here is how you can submit photos online:
   • Go to: https://images.schoolannualonline.com/login
   • If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter username: 414503677
   • Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload.
   • Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information.
   • Click "Upload Chosen Images".

It's that easy! Submit your photos today! The last day to submit photos is 04/01/2020.
Thank you, and enjoy the rest of the school year!

Sincerely,
Yearbook Adviser and the 2020 Yearbook Staff
