December 19th - January 1st
Parent Survey - Please participate!
Our district has collaborated with the Center for Educational Effectiveness to create surveys for parents, staff, and students. The purpose of this survey is to gather information about how we can improve our schools and district. At East Ridge, we are excited to offer our families this opportunity to share feedback with us! We care about how you and your child feel about our school, and want to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to answer this anonymous survey:
Paper copies in English and other languages are also available in our school office.
Highly Capable Test Preparation
Students will be taking the Naglieri screening assessment this week and next week. Check with your child’s classroom teacher for your student’s testing date. While there is nothing your student needs to do to study for the HiCap testing process, there are a number of things you can do to prepare your student for the day of testing. Those include a good night’s sleep, relaxed attitude, and good nutrition/hydration on testing day. Food and drinks are typically not allowed in testing rooms. Per test administration directions, short breaks may be provided. Northshore does not recommend that families purchase test preparation materials, and HiCap Department does not provide guidance regarding test preparation.
Holiday Travel Plans
If you have travel plans that will take your student out of school beyond the designated break, be sure to complete and submit a Pre-Approved Absence Request form. This form can be found on the front page of our website or by following this link: https://www.nsd.org/cms/lib/WA01918953/Centricity/domain/306/forms/Pre-Approved%20Absence%20Request%20Form%20.pdf
Early Releases/Class Interruptions
This is a busy time of year for everyone. Your teachers and children are working hard to create a productive learning environment. You can help by minimizing interruptions and planning ahead. Please try and schedule appointments after school when possible and send notes to school with your child to clarify after school schedules. If no note is received, students are to go home their regular way. We ask that you plan your day ahead to avoid dropping off lunches, snacks and notes after school has started.
Thanks for your assistance!

A big thank you to our generous community of amazing cooks and bakers! On Thursday, November 14th, the staff was treated to an amazing lunch spread. This incredible outpouring of delicious food was lead by Becca Berryman and Julie Even and was very welcomed during this busy conference week time.
Thank You Jump Rope Extravaganza Helpers!
A big thank you to the many wonderful hard working parent volunteers, and engaging young people from Timbercrest Junior High, of whom helped to make the East Ridge Jump Rope Extravaganza an active and fun 2018 event. The East Ridge students actively participated in healthy heart activities, were instructed in CPR/ AED by our excellent Woodinville Fire Fighters, and for the second time, we had our fabulous Char Bourriague teaching yoga to improve students’ flexibility and balance. Also a special shout out to Stephanie Hennessy who greatly helped in coordinating this event. Thank you again to everyone! Your giving of your time, patience, and strong effort is so appreciated.

Game Room Volunteers Needed!
Sign up to support our students during recess time in our amazing Game Room. Located in the Art room, Game Room runs on Thursdays from 11-1:15 and includes all three recesses. This is a supportive role for volunteers, Game Masters (3rd - 5th graders) that have been trained in peer leadership and conflict resolution and need your positive encouragement and, at times, hands on help. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c48aea729abfd0-east1
