Message from Mrs. White

Dear East Ridge Families,

One thing that is special about East Ridge is the strong support we have from our PTA. Our PTA enriches the experience of every child and staff member at East Ridge through countless volunteer hours, family events, programs, and grants. Most of these depend on the generosity of our community through PTA fundraising. We are excited to return to the tradition of the East Ridge PTA Auction this year, and hope that you will join us on Friday, May 6th at the Archer Hotel Redmond!

The ERPTA has the perfect night planned whether you are looking to sneak away on your own, with a friend, or significant other! (PTA even has complimentary sitters lined up as they earn hours towards their Honors Society commitment. Reach out for more info! becommunityauctioninfo@gmail.comTrust us, you aren’t going to want to miss this night to be back with the ER community. You may even be able to jockey your way into the winners' circle in a real live Derby race! You are sure to leave with a full heart knowing you have supported the hard-working East Ridge staff, teachers, children, and parents.

Purchase your ticket by April 20! If you can’t attend in person, you can participate in the silent auction or by donating. Find out more and buy your ticket today!

Here are a few of the ways East Ridge PTA fundraising has directly impacted our students and staff in the last few years:

  • Playground improvements (Aeroglider, quadro seesaw, green play cube, outdoor bells, outdoor drums, new fitness path and target stencil, and more!): $36,500
  • Social/emotional learning kits for every classroom: ~$1600
  • Picture books to support our monthly character trait teaching: $1069
  • Supplemental reading intervention curriculum, Flyleaf Phonics: $2330
  • Math Genius Squad subscriptions for all teachers (resources for instruction and professional development): $3600
  • Second display monitors for teachers to support their online teaching during remote learning: $994
  • Anti-Bullying Assembly from Taproot Theater for all students: $500
  • Wobble stools and sensory supports: $1300
  • Ukulele stand: $854
  • Supplemental nonfiction books for 4th grade: $170
  • Third grade math manipulatives: $367
  • Outdoor signage for our school expectations and recess banners: $5043
  • Individual staff grants for supplemental materials and supplies: $350 annually per staff member

PTA fundraising allows us to enrich each child’s learning, play, and overall experience at East Ridge. Our community and PTA support is often named as one of the top reasons our amazing staff members choose to work at East Ridge. Thank you so much for your support of our PTA and school! I hope to see you at the auction on May 6!

Warmly,

Sarah White, Principal

Positive COVID Result?covid test vial held by gloved hand

If your child tested positive during Spring Break, please notify Nurse Gerry at gcullins@nsd.org. Even if their 5-day required quarantine happened over break, it is important for the school to know of any positive COVID results. Students who have tested positive may return to school after 5 days if their symptoms are better, but must remain masked at school through day 10. Students who have had COVID in the past 90 days must be opted out of our batch testing process so that we do not get false-positive results.

Thank you for your cooperation.
~ Nurse Gerry

These assessments are used for state and federal accountability, to monitor student progress toward grade level standards, as well as an option for high school students to meet their Graduation Pathways requirement. The English/Language Arts (ELA) and math Smarter Balanced Assessments are administered in grades 3 through 8 and 10, while the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) is administered in grades 5, 8, and 11.
