Picture Day/Materials and Library Pick Up Event

A Picture Day/Materials and Library Pick Up Event is coming up on Friday, December 4th. ALL pickups and photos MUST have a reservation to allow for proper social distancing and safety for everyone. Family To Do List

Please take immediate action on the following 3 items:

 

  1. Progress Report Preference - We are hoping to use email/Parent Vue to send home progress reports in a few weeks, which will enable staff to do this remotely and also save on the cost of postage. We can also send progress reports via US Mail for those families who have that preference. We need to hear from you by Wednesday, November 18th. Please take this short survey to let us know your preference for receiving the progress reports (email/Parent Vue or US mail): https://forms.gle/zpQEYWWH2YykVtKW7 Thank you!

  2. Picture Day/Materials and Library Pick Up Event- Sign up for a time slot for pictures and/or materials and library pick up to be taken on 12/4. The link is: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4AAFAE2BA1F4C07-picture

  3. ParentVue Forms - Annually the District provides parents/guardians with notification of forms that must be acknowledged by 11/17, including:

  • State Attendance Letter
  • Rights and Responsibilities Handbook

  • Weapons Letter

  • Student Housing Questionnaire

  • Immunization Record Sharing Form

We ask that you login to ParentVUE today to view these forms. If you’ve never logged into ParentVUE, you will find instructions on how to do so when you click the link above. Please know that when you next login to ParentVUE, you will be prompted to download, read, and take action for each of the forms listed above. Families are encouraged to review the handbook together in ParentVUE with their students.

East Ridge Library News!!!

  1. Our Annual Scholastic Book Fair starts NEXT MONDAY, November 23 and will run for two weeks through December 7. The Link for shopping will be posted here next week and on the Library Schoology page by tomorrow so you can start browsing ahead of our opening day. Half of all sales will help us buy award winning new books and new titles requested by teachers and students to keep our school library collection up to date, as always.
  2. This THUSDAY and FRIDAY will be our seventh consecutive week of putting out ER Library Book Bags for every ER student. Every week there is a Library Book Bag with your student's name on it available for you to pick up at our three neighborhood Bus Stops on Thursday or Curbside at East Ridge on Friday. Come and get'em you book lovin' ER families!!!
  3. After this week our next Library Book Bag pick up will be over two weeks from now on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4th, for EVERY student (no Thurs. Bus Stop deliveries), since every student will be stopping by East Ridge that day for classroom materials and for Picture Day.

Reading with Rover

Reading with Rover is now offering a virtual reading time with a dog. The next event will be Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30 pm. To sign-up to participate in this event the student/ parent just needs to go to the Reading with Rover Homepage and in the events menu go to the date. Once there, a student can sign-up for a 20-minute time slot to read to a dog. Here is the link to that page :http://www.readingwithrover.org/events/

Holiday Giving Tree

East Ridge, with the support of the ERPTA, is hosting a Holiday Giving Tree (virtually). More details to come on how you can help!

Does your family need help this holiday season? If you are having circumstances this year (or know someone that is) that make gift giving for your family or meals on the table a challenge, contact Nurse Gerry (gcullins@nsd.org) by Thursday, 11/19 to sign up for support through our Holiday Giving Tree. All information will be kept confidential.

 

District Highly Capable Information

The Accelerated Models and Programs Department is working on the 2020-2021 testing plan for students with highly capable needs for grades K-5. Our department will update families when we can test.

We continue to work with our technology department to determine how we can remotely administer both the NNAT3 for screening and the IOWA for testing students in grades 5-7.

PHOTO OF THE MONTH!

For the month of November, we have 2 photo themes for yearbook submissions:

  • Take a picture with your pet and/or favorite stuffed animal.

  • Take a picture with art you have created. This is a great way to show off your Reflections artwork!
