Keep Playing Resource
Thanks to a generous grant from PTA, East Ridge has a new resource for games and social/emotional learning. We receive a game of the week, a brain break activity of the week and many other resources. The games can be played at home with easy-to-find materials. This week’s game is Blizzard! Check it out here! Also, here is an excellent resource shared about five deep breathing exercises kids can learn to do to keep calm. We will continue sharing these resources in classrooms and with our community. Thank you to PTA for this resource!
4th/5th Grade Students
Dear East Ridge Families,
I am excited to be able to teach our fourth and fifth graders to play recorder in Music during the second semester. Sterile school recorders will be available for checkout, or families may choose to order an instrument for their student. Students who have recorders from older siblings may use those. Recorders can be sterilized using warm soapy water or in the top rack of the dishwasher. Note: You may also choose to order a recorder using other vendors. We recommend sticking with the Yamaha brand soprano recorder.
Each student needs to complete this form to let us know which option you are choosing: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1MrGQ8iadHhrEehAknmvGoLhw6k_Y6nfKU5-vWmE4MZs/edit
(There is also a hyperlink for the form in their Schoology Music Course.)
In addition to the form above, please use this link if you would like to purchase your own recorder from Mad Robin Music: https://www.madrobinmusic.com/shop/category.asp?catid=453
(There is also a hyperlink for this form in their Schoology Music Course.)
These Yamaha brand recorders come in four colors: white, green, pink and blue and are $6.50 including tax. If you choose to purchase a recorder from Mad Robin, it will be shipped to East Ridge at no additional cost, and distributed at our next supply pick up on Feb. 5th.
The deadline for placing your order is January 15th.

December Trait: Gratefulness
Definition: warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful.
Northshore School District has participated in the Hour of Code for many years. Although we aren't able to enjoy coding together this year, the Hour of Code website has plenty of activities that students can do from home.

Our dear and amazing Lillie Linville is sitting as acting president, but has already exceeded her 2 year term limit and needs to be replaced per our bylaws. We need a new President ASAP to relieve her of her duties! You will have tons of fun with our board and lots and lots of support!
Our VP of Events changed schools recently and we are in need of someone to fill this important and fun board position! As with everything PTA, this position is very flexible this year and will reflect the current needs and remote design of activities. Do you have some great ideas of how we can raise morale, stay connected, and help our kids get the most out of this unique year? We need your help to see it through!
