Report cards for all students will be sent home in your child’s backpack on Friday, February 3rd.
East Ridge will have an early dismissal at 12:15pm on Friday, February 10th. Elementary schools in Northshore have an early release that day for parent-teacher conferences for selected students. Conferences are held at teacher discretion. If your child’s teacher determines that a conference is necessary at this time of year, they will reach out to you for scheduling.
Nurse Corner
Just a few reminders from the nurse:
- Borrowed clothes: If your student borrowed clothes or shoes from the Health Room, we appreciate having these returned so they are available for others to borrow when needed. We are in very short supply of girls leggings, sizes 8 & 10, and boys athletic type pants sizes in all sizes, 4-10. If you have gently used pants your students are no longer wearing, we welcome donations to the health room. We do not need tops, just bottoms. Thank you!
- Medications at School: All medications, whether a prescription is needed or over the counter, require a completed Medication Authorization Form to have at school. Needs to be completed by parent/guardian and medical provider. This is per legislation of Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). Cough drops, throat lozenges, and such are considered a medication by OSPI.
- Staying healthy: It's still cold and flu season. Just a reminder that hand washing is the best way to stop the spread of infection. Keeping hydrated is also very important as it helps your body work to keep you healthy.
HiCap Testing
5th graders who were identified by the NSD Hicap Department for Reading testing will be tested on Thursday, 1/12 at 9:05am. Parents of identified students were notified by the hicap department to provide consent. If you have any questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

COVID Communication
The Department of Health (DOH) requires schools to inform families and students about COVID-19 case numbers and potential outbreaks. Last week, there were three confirmed cases at our school. The accuracy of our data depends on self-reporting. Thank you for continuing to let the school know if your child tests positive for COVID-19. To view additional information, including school and district trends visit the District’s COVID-19 data dashboard. The dashboard is updated weekly on Monday evenings.
If your child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 keep them home and test for COVID-19. Families can order free COVID-19 tests from the state. Together, we can keep our schools healthy and safe.
REMINDER - ASB Dates
ASB has decided to have Spirit Day once a month.

REMINDER - After School Change of Plans
Any changes in your child’s regular transportation (i.e. bus, walking or car pick-up) from school must be communicated by a note to your child’s teacher, signed and dated by you as the parent/guardian. Please include the date, student’s full name, and parent signature. If your child is riding home on a bus with another student, he/she must have a note with the bus number, the student they are going with, and an address of that bus stop. If you are unable to send a note outlining any change in plans, please call the office BEFORE NOON. Without a note or phone call your child will not be able to make a change from his/her regular daily routine.
REMINDER - Travel Plans
Please make an effort to schedule travel plans during school breaks. Consistent attendance is important for your child’s learning. If you have travel plans that will take your student out of school beyond the designated break, please be sure to complete and submit a Pre-Approved Absence Request form. This form can be found on our website at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YTC00AYwMoAhEunXDlpSpyuXDaKjXvTmUceMkMHb8sc/edit?usp=sharing
