Family Input for Student Placement in 21-
22 School Year
Each year, East Ridge families are invited to provide input regarding their child’s classroom placement for the next school year. Families should know that the district fully intends to have students in school five days a week beginning on September 1, our scheduled first day of school. There will also be a district-level 100% remote option to serve students who cannot attend school in person due to personal or family health concerns. You can read more details about district plans here.
Our family input form this year includes a question about your intent to enroll your child for in-person school or the district remote-only program (or if you are undecided at this time). It will really help with our planning to have families share this information.
If you have input you would like us to consider, please complete this form and press submit by Friday, May 14, 2021. Please complete a separate input form for each child in your family.
Our paramount duty during the placement process is to create well-balanced classrooms that provide the best instructional setting for all students. In determining placement, our school teams and principal consider what we know about individual students, student groups that work well together, parent input, and overall classroom balance. As a family, you may have additional insight that helps us ensure a positive and productive year for your child. Please note:

Completion of this form is optional. All students will be given careful consideration for classroom placement, whether or not parent input is provided.

We do NOT accept specific teacher requests or guarantee placement in specific classroom programs. We will NOT forward any forms with specific teacher requests to placement teams.

The information you provide will be shared with all staff involved with your child’s placement, including your child’s current teacher and next year’s teacher – this form is not confidential.

Please understand that since we may have a low number of classes at each grade level, we will not be able to create classrooms that honor all requests, especially requests to separate children and/or requests regarding combination classrooms.

Daily Student Health Checks!!
Daily StudentHealth Checks need to be completed DAILY before your child can attend school. They must be completed by 8:30am.
Substitute Employment in NSD
NSD is hiring for both classified and certificated substitutes. Those that are interested can apply online through the NSD website.
Additionally, we are hiring emergency classroom substitute teachers for East Ridge. This position requires a desire to work with children, a willingness to step in and manage a classroom last minute, and a 4 year degree, however it doesn’t have to be in education. If you wish to become an emergency classroom sub for East Ridge, please reach out to Kris Held, Office Manager at kheld@nsd.org or 425-408-4401.

There is NO library PICK UP for REMOTE learners THIS WEEK!
FINAL Remote Learner Library Book Bag pick up will be NEXT Wednesday, May 19.
All Remote Learner library books need to be returned on May 26, OR JUNE 2 AT THE VERY LATEST.
Curbside Pick up & drop off times for May 19th: 11am-1pm & 3:30-4:30pm.
In-school Group A and B students will receive FINAL new library book bags of the school year either THIS week (K-2nd) or NEXT week (3-5th).
ALL LIBRARY BOOKS NEED TO BE RETURNED BY JUNE 2nd.
***Students who come to school for in-person hybrid may bring their library book bags back to school and place on the library carts in their foyers to return OR follow their classroom teacher's instruction.***

Golden Acorn Awards are presented by ERPTA to volunteers in our school community for recognition of their dedication and service to children and youth. You can nominate more than one person (one form per nominee); nominations are due by June 6th and winners will be announced June 15th at the ERPTA General Membership meeting. Students are welcome to submit nominations too!
