Playworks Recess Reboot This Week
Dear East Ridge Families,
I am excited to share that thanks to a generous $10,200 grant from our East Ridge PTA, our school is partnering with Playworks to help reboot our recess this week!
We are proud to partner with Playworks to make recess a fun, inclusive time for every student in our community. Playworks is the leading national nonprofit using play to transform schools. A Playworks recess creates a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills.
Playworks Trainer, Marie DeShetler, will be at our school on Tuesday-Friday this week. Playworks’ main focus will be to help us assess and set goals for our school recess, provide our staff with additional professional development, as well as launch and demo best practices that will help bring safe and healthy play to our school!
During the week, staff and students will learn new skills and expectations for safe and fun recess games and activities.
Thank you for your support and please join us in welcoming Playworks to East Ridge this week!

We still have several classes without volunteers, so please fill out this form if you have any interest in helping out in the library this year!
Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:45 – 4:30 pm.

Last week, there were a total of two confirmed cases at our school. The accuracy of our data depends on self-reporting. Thank you for continuing to let the school know if your child tests positive for COVID-19. To view additional information, including school and district trends visit the District’s COVID-19 data dashboard. The dashboard is updated weekly on Monday evenings.
