COVID Communication

The Department of Health (DOH) requires schools to inform families andCOVID virus students about COVID-19 case numbers and potential outbreaks. Last week, there was a total of one confirmed case at our school. The accuracy of our data depends on self-reporting. Thank you for continuing to let the school know if your child tests positive for COVID-19. To view additional information, including school and district trends visit the District’s COVID-19 data dashboard. The dashboard is updated weekly on Monday evenings.

If your child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 keep them home and test for COVID-19. Families can order free COVID-19 tests from the state. Together, we can keep our schools healthy and safe.

REMINDER: Library HelpVolunteer at the Library

East Ridge Library would love your help! Volunteers help keep the library running smoothly by helping with things like check in/out and shelving. It's a great way to get involved at school, even if you've never volunteered before. It's also very flexible if you aren't able to make it in on a weekly basis. We still have several classes without volunteers, so please fill out this form if you have any interest in helping out in the library this year!

Ready Start Tuition Program

Northshore Early Childhood is currently enrolling for the Ready Start Tuition Program. It is a blended multi-age, inclusive model, serving students, ages 3-5. Currently there are openings at Sorenson ECC and Woodmoor Elementary for the 2022/23 school year. Classrooms are taught and supported by a general education teacher, a special education teacher, and a paraprofessional. Inclusive classrooms create a dynamic learning environment for all students. The average class size is 16 students, with class make-up of 8 students with IEP’s, 4 students who pay tuition, and 4 students who are income eligible. Classrooms utilize The Creative Curriculum & Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment Tool. The staff is committed to fostering student learning and cultivating friendships while creating a sense of community for our students. Utilizing developmentally appropriate teaching strategies to support a whole child approach to learning, within an inclusive environment, fosters high levels of student learning and social and emotional growth for all students.
