Dr. Reid Visits East Ridge
Dear East Ridge Elementary School Families,
Each year, Dr. Reid visits each school - first meeting with parents and guardians, then with a group of students before visiting each classroom. We have been working to adapt this event to a virtual setting and began piloting this format in November.
Please join us Thursday, January 28 at 8:25 a.m. for an informal 30-minute meet and greet with Dr. Reid. This event is open to all East Ridge Elementary School parents and guardians. Be sure to bring your ideas and questions. After leaving the meet and greet, Dr. Reid will get a glimpse of distance learning in the classrooms before joining a group of students for Brunch Club.
Please join the Meet and Greet using this link.

East Ridge Keeps Playing
You got to move it! Move it!
This week’s game is Huckle Buckle Beanstalk. The social/emotional learning connection is about integrity – Be fair, be honest, and do the right thing even when no one is watching you or you don’t “have to.” This week’s brain break activity is Sleepy Bunny. Teachers may be using these in class activities, and these are also activities kids and families can do for fun or for breaks at home. Thank you PTA for these great resources!

January Trait: OPTIMISM
Optimism Definition: Feeling hopeful that risks are worth taking and that problems will work their way out. Looking on the bright side - focusing on the positive instead of the negative. When you do something new, you think, "I can try," and give it your best shot because that's how you grow. Great Article about Optimism
